É o nome do Design/Padrao de um tecido que nos finais dos anos 60 se tornou popular nas roupas dos Hippys e Psicadélicos. As guitarras e baixos Fender Paisley foram fabricados nos EUA em 1968 (Vermelho/Pink e Azul) no auge do Flower Power / Psicadélico e como não tiveram grande aceitação foram descontinuados em 1969. Das poucas que foram vendidas a maioria acabou por ser pintada de outra cor. Em 1969 James Burton começou a tocar c/Elvis e trocou a sua Tele Standart "Candy Red" por uma 69 Tele Paisley Red/"Pink" que usou em todos as actuações do Rei, despertando assim o interesse/procura pelas Paisleys, que sendo extremamente raras, rapidamente se tornaram em guitarras de coleção.
