Brubeck concentrado na música, tanto quanto o desempenho, que é uma das razões pelas quais ele apelou para um público tão grande e é também a razão pela qual Greatest Hits representa é um amostrador tal diversão e eficácia. Apresentando essas composições conhecidas como "Take Five", "In Your Own Sweet Way", "The Duke", "Trolley Song", "Unsquare Dance," e "Blue Rondo à la Turk", a coleção oferece uma bela introdução para Brubeck. Edição UK de 1966. 8 - A Cor do Som - Ao Vivo Montreux International Jazz Este é o 2º disco do grupo A Cor do Som, lançado em 1978. A banda, baseada no Rio de Janeiro, foi o primeiro grupo brasileiro a tocar no festival de jazz de Montreux, na Suíça, a convite do seu idelizador, Claude Nobs, que os conheceu numa festa promovida pela gravadora Warner. Com um virtuosismo exacerbado, o grupo apresentou material quase todo inédito. Uma característica que destaca este disco do anterior é o maior uso de instrumentos elétricos e sintetizadores, como na versão de "Espírito Infantil". A formação do grupo é: Armandinho, guitarra; Dadi, baixo; Mu Carvalho Teclados e Sintetizadores; Gustavo Schroeter, bateria. Neste show a banda contou também com companheiros de Armandinho no Trio Elétrico Armandinho, Dodô & Osmar, os percussionistas André Maceda e Ary Dias (este último tornando-se membro oficial), e o guitarrista Aroldo Macedo (irmão de Armandinho). Aroldo realizou algumas apresentações com o grupo na época, mas não chegou a fixar-se como membro efetivo. Uma das peças apresentadas no repertório, "Cochabamba", é de sua autoria, em parceria com Moraes Moreira. Apesar da qualidade musical estupenda e da grande criatividade da banda, o disco, assim como seu antecessor, teve vendas baixíssimas, levando a gravadora WEA a pressionar os integrantes do grupo para que passassem a apresentar, além das peças instrumentais habituais, números cantados. Esta fórmula foi adotada, com alguma relutância, no álbum seguinte, "Frutificar", e revelou-se extraordinariamente bem-sucedida, fazendo o conjunto alcançar grande sucesso comercial no final da década de 1970 e nos anos 1980. The 1954 Custom debuted with two single-coil pickups, but McCarty had already set Seth Lover and a team of Gibson designers the task of developing a revolutionary new humbucking pickup, which first hit the scene on the Les Paul Custom and Les Paul Goldtop in 1957. While the Les Paul Custom has always been a supremely elegant instrument—a “black tie” guitar for the formal crowd, as Les originally conceived it—many have come off the line over the years considerably heavier than the typical Les Paul Standard. The Les Paul Custom Lite, new from Gibson USA, redresses that disparity: made with a considerably thinner body and traditional weight relief, it lightens the load for a superbly playable Custom that still packs all the elegant looks and dual-humbucker tone that has made this Les Paul legendary.
